RELAXATION MASSAGE

The most common and best-known type of massage and the foundation for sports massage, deep tissue massage,  and other popular massages. Based on the concepts of anatomy and physiology therapists utilize this type of massage to stimulate circulation, flush the circulatory system, release tight muscles, restore range of motion, and to relieve pain.
If you don’t get a massage often, a Relaxation massage is a good fit for beginners. Most people get a 50- or 60-minute Relaxation or deep tissue massage, but 75 or 90 minutes will give the therapist more time to work the muscle tissue and achieve results. A Relaxation massage can be slow and gentle, or vigorous and bracing, depending on the therapist’s personal style and what he or she is trying to achieve.
If you want deeper work and can tolerate more pressure to get relief from chronic muscle pain, it’s better to book a deep tissue massage, which is another form of Relaxation massage. If you have pain, it will likely take a series of massages to get results. Relaxation massage and other types of therapeutic massage are performed by trained, licensed massage therapists.

THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE

A therapeutic massage means you present to the therapist with a specific complaint, for instance, pain in your hip, tight shoulders, or a spasm in your lower back. The therapist then follows four steps:

Assess your current condition. This will include taking a history, asking how long have you experienced the pain, whether the onset was sudden, how you experience the pain, etc. The therapist will also observe the way you move, test your range of motion, and feel the tissue during the treatment for consistency and texture.
Propose a plan. Once the therapist has a good idea of your condition, he can propose an approach to treatment. This might be a simple as focusing on your area of complaint instead of trying to do a full-body massage during one session.
Perform the therapy. This is the actual massage, or treatment, based on the
assessment and the plan you have agreed to.

Evaluate the outcome. At the end of the treatment, you and the therapist review the results. An evaluation will take place at the end of each session to determine the continued course of therapy.

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE
Deep tissue massage is aimed at the deeper tissue structures of the muscle and fascia, also called connective tissue, which is great for relieving chronic muscle pain that’s aggravated by traveling. Whether you’ve just taken just taken a long flight or you’ve been stuck in a car for weeks, booking a  deep tissue massage can help you alleviate chronic muscle soreness so you can get back to enjoying your vacation. Deep tissue massages use many of the same movements and techniques as relaxation massages, but the pressure will generally be more intense. It is also a more focused type of massage, as the therapist works to release chronic muscle tension or “knots”—also known as “adhesions.”
PRENATAL / POSTNATAL MASSAGE

Prenatal massage helps ease tension to help with relaxation and pain relief – while keeping mom and baby safe and comfortable.

Prenatal massage can help alleviate pregnancy back pain and increase blood circulation, which can provide more oxygen and nutrients to the baby.

LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE MASSAGE

Lymphatic Drainage Massage is commonly referred to as Lymphatic Drainage. Lymphatic drainage is a gentle, rhythmical massage treatment performed by a specially trained lymphatic massage therapist to stimulate the circulation of lymph fluid around the body. This helps to rapidly speed up the removal of wastes and toxins from a sluggish lymphatic system. Lymphatic massage can also aids in the prevention of swelling after injury or surgery. It is also thought to provide a major boost to your immune system.

COUPLES MASSAGE
Couples massage is a popular service at the spa where two people are massaged in the same room, at the same time, by two different therapists.
HOT STONE MASSAGE
Hot stone massage is a specialty massage where the therapist uses smooth, heated stones to warm up tight muscles so he can work on pressure points and problem areas to alleviate tension and stress. Hot stones may either be placed on the body or used as an extension of the therapist’s hands, which allows the therapist to work more deeply and more quickly. This quick massage treatment method is the perfect way to relax while you’re on vacation—especially if you experience chronic muscle soreness that’s been agitated by a long flight or car ride. Along with relieving tension, hot stone massage can help to promote sleep, relieve pain related to autoimmune disease, boost immunity, and even decrease cancer symptoms like fatigue, nausea, depression, and pain.
SPORTS MASSAGE

A sports massage is a good choice if you have a specific problem—a tender knee from running, for instance. It is also a good idea to see a movement therapist, who can help you identify and correct the movement pattern that might be causing your injury in the first place.
In sports massage, the massage therapist generally concentrates on a specific problem area that you present, usually associated with some sort of sports activity, such as running, tennis, or golf. Trained massage therapist has mastery of a wide range of techniques and knows when to use them.

MYOFASCIAL CUPPING TREATMENT

Myofascial Cupping treatment Uses a combination of massage strokes and negative pressure to lift, separate, and stretch underlying soft tissues.
Areas of musculoskeletal tension or congestion are located using massage techniques, and cups may be applied on an affected area and moved over the surface in a gliding motion, or possibly put on a fascial adhesion or trigger point for a short time to reduce or eliminate it.
